Simple Daal Chawal Recipe

Daal Chawal recipe in urdu Cooking Method

  1. In a spins bowl , add Cooled water and rice. Keep rice in the water for 10 -20 min.
  2. In a stainless steel pots or pans set, add water, rice, salt, whole cumin and boil it.
  3. In a spins bowl , add masoor dal and dal mung. Keep them in the water for 10-20 minutes.
  4. Now evaporate boil dal masoor, dal mung in the water. After that add, salt, red chili powder, green chili, turmeric, garlic, coriander powder and cumin powder.
  5. Steam it for 15-20 minutes on low flame. After that add Tarka.
  6. Tarka:In a cooking pan, add cooking oil, onion, cumin and fry it until light brown.
  7. Now add garlic chopped, whole red chili, red chili powder and cook for a while.
  8. Your tasty chane ki daal chawal recipe is ready to serve.

2nd  Method Dhal with Rice

  1. In one pan add the lentils, water, tinned tomatoes and turmeric and boil until soft, approximately 20 minutes.
  2. In a separate pan, heat the ghee, drop in the cumin seeds and fry until brown, add the green chilli.
  3. Now add the fried spices into the Dhal and mix well.
  4. Add salt, sugar, chilli powder and lemon to taste.
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander, chilli and ginger.
  6. Serve with a bowl of white basmati rice.

Ingredients for Simple Dal Chawal (Rice) Recipe :

  • For Dal :

    • 1 cup Split Red Masoor dal (split red lentils)
    • 1 large onion, finely chopped
    • 2 tomatoes
    • 1 green chillies, chopped
    • 1 t-spoon garlic, finely chopped (lahsun)
    • 1 t-spoon minced ginger (Adrak)
    • 2 table-spoon oil
    • salt to taste
    • 3 cup water
    • Herbs and spices (for Dal) :
    • 1/2 t-spoon turmeric powdered (haldi)
    • 1/2 t-spoon cumin seeds (Jeera)
    • 1/2 t-spoon Coriander Powder (Dhania powder)
    • 1/2 t-spoon Mustard seeds (Rai)

  • For Chawal (Rice) :

    • 1 cup Rice (Normal or Basmati)
    • 2 cups water
    • a pinch of salt
