Recipe for "Bhuna Masala" Chicken Curry:
Ingredients:1 pound boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 medium-sized onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
- Freshly chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- In a non-stick pan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil on medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the finely chopped onions and green chilies. Saute until the onions turn translucent.
- Add the ginger and garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell of ginger and garlic disappears.
- Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and garam masala powder. Mix well and sauté for a few seconds.
- Add the chicken pieces and sauté on high heat until the chicken turns slightly brown.
- Add the yogurt and mix well. Reduce the heat to low and cook until the chicken is tender and the gravy thickens.
- Add salt to taste and mix well. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice or naan.
