Walnut Cake Recipe Gilgit Style



Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chopped walnuts and raisins.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth out the top.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely before removing it from the pan.
  • Dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar before serving.
